Revival Drum Shop (Est. 2009):
Portland's best place to check out some great vintage and custom drums, grab a coffee, hang out and talk drums. We have eclectic percussion pieces and a nice selection of drumheads, sticks, parts, accessories, new and used cymbals. The goal is to be a place of inspiration for drummers of all walks of life from beginner to the seasoned player.

Who:
JOSE MEDELES plays drums in
THE BREEDERS and leads his own duo
1939 ENSEMBLE.
Other artists he's played with include JOEY RAMONE, BEN HARPER, DONAVON FRANKENREITER &
MIKE WATT. Jose' worked at the legendary PROFESSIONAL DRUM SHOP in Los Angeles where
he learned from the best (Stan & Jerry Keyawa) to run a shop and keep drummers happy and inspired.
SCOTT McPHERSON is a drummer and lover of old drums. He moved from LA and loves Portland. He has drummed/toured with artists such as Elliott Smith, Beck, M.Ward, Neil Finn, and Bright Eyes. When not on tour, there is nowhere he'd rather be than Revival Drum Shop.
JAKE ENDICOTT is a native Oregonian. He plays drums in
Oh Darling, who's songs have been featured in
tv (Gray's Anatomy,
Ugly Betty, Bones), car commercials (Volkswagen, Kia), film (Disney's - Prom),
plus their song "Young Love" is available to play along with on Rock
Band. When he's not doing Oh Darling work or at home with the family, he can be found at Revival. He loves vintage drums and the interaction with Revivals patrons.
JOHN NIEKRASZ is a drummer and composer originally from Chicago. He earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and has studied drum set with Hamid Drake, James Dreier, Dean Radzik, and Tatsuya Nakatani. John lived in Cuba and India where he studied Afro-Cuban percussion and classical Hindustani tabla, respectively. He performs with and composes for ensembles such as
Why I Must Be Careful,
Thicket, Sporting, and
Poor School. John is most interested in avant-garde approaches to drum set that increase fluency, rigor, effortlessness, and expression.
