After years in school bands, pit orchestra, and personal projects, David attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating in 2005. While at Berklee David worked on jazz independence and fell in love with the brushes. While living in Boston, he was involved with many different kinds of projects ranging from metal to klezmer jazz, including playing with the Either/Orchestra and side projects with Dana Colley of Morphine.  David moved to Portland, OR in 2006, and is now actively gigging with 1939 Ensemble and M. Village.  Currently, he is the head drum instructor at the Portland School of Rock. SCOTT MAGEE (email: cookyparker@gmail.com)

Trial by fire wold be an apt term to describe Scott Magee's musical history. With his roots as a drummer firmly rooted in(and on) the streets of New Orleans, Magee(starting age 22) learned how to keep a beat and drive a band by constantly being one step behind at first but then quickly absorbing all the feel that the Crescent City has to offer.

With his non-traditional approach to learning the drum-set Scott offers a feel first, technique second approach to playing music. Now that is not to say he did not put in his time as a student of the craft. Lessons from New Orleans own Stanton Moore and Ken Ollis(PSU Jazz instructor) plus hours of experimental practice has prepared him and he is ready to play music with you and hopes to learn as much as he might be able to pass on.

NICK SAUME (email: noftime@aol.com) (website:  click here)

His musical roots are in New York City where he grew up and it is in NYC that he played and studied with Stanley Krel, principal percussionist with the New York Philharmonic, when in San Francisco playing and studied with: George Marsh, Richie Goldberg, Anthony Cirone, the principal percussionist for the San Jose Symphony, and the legendary Chuck Brown.

Moving to Portland in 1990, Nick also was the drum/percussionist teacher at Beaumont Middle School in NE Portland.
